FAQs

Are the insects real? Yes! Everything, from the bugs and bones, to the moss, flowers and crystals I use in my pieces are real

Where do you source your insects from? I am a licensed importer through USFWS, and legally obtain all of my specimens. All of my insects are sourced from insect breeders or insect farms. Insect farming and breeding is beneficial to the environment because some specimens are released back into the wild, supporting local populations.

Do you have bats? I DO NOT AND WILL NOT sell bats. Nor will bats ever be featured in my work. Overseas bats, some snakes, lizards, and frogs are considered pests and are mass killed to sell to the oddities industry. This practice is done so frequently that certain species of these animals are on their way to the endangered list. If someone tells you their bats are "ethically sourced", but they have a ton of stock of each type, they are not ethically sourced. Bat farms do not exist and bats only reproduce once a year. It is possible to find one from a seller who has a relationship with a sanctuary, but those sellers will tell you exactly where they sourced the bat from and will not have a large quantity. Bats sold in the oddities trade are typically freeze dried and not taxidermied. Please DO NOT support the bat trade!
